FFA Meeting for Feb. 13: NSOCK and an Overview of What's to Come

Vice President Cory teaches the group about training state officer candidates.
Today we had a productive and informative meeting. We had a decent turnout and we started our agenda by listening to a guest speaker, Quinn Jonas. Quinn is running for ASUN student government as a liberal arts senator and he wishes to help our chapter by starting a new program on campus involving the sale of local crops to students on and various food vendors.

After an unanimous vote, the Collegiate FFA of the University of Nevada officially endorses Quinn Jonas as ASUN senator for the College of Liberal Arts. We hope that all of the members vote for Quinn in the coming elections in March.

The next item we discussed was possible community service ideas for the current semester. Some ideas mentioned were helping out with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, more Ag in the Classroom days and food drives. If anybody has any ideas on possible community service activities, feel free to contact Kylen, give her some details about your idea and she will organize something with the group.

Next we talked about our next recreation activity and what we are going to do for our next meeting. On Thursday, February 27, we will be meeting at 7 p.m. in the CABNR building. Then, we will all carpool to Starlite Lanes for some good old fashioned fun in the game of bowling.

The last thing on our agenda tonight was information on NSOCK and Cory gave all of the participants a rundown of how this coming weekend will work. If you are volunteering, please contact Cory for more information.

Hopefully we will see everybody in two weeks for our next meeting!
